If you're trying to connect to a MacBook, make sure that it's plugged into a continuous power source, or else it won't wake from sleep when Screens tries to connect to it..

Wake for Network Access

Make sure that Wake for network access is enabled in your Mac's System Preferences, in the Energy Saver preference pane.
